Monday 9 September saw the opening meeting of the 2024/25 season.
It has now become a tradition for this first meeting to be a practical night where we can all play, experiment, mingle and get to know each other, particularly any new members.
The theme on Monday was ‘Water’.
Pete Wrycraft, our Chairman had set up several stations where we could play with water droplets clinging to threads suspended over a coloured light; dripping food colouring onto a flower in a vase of water; oil on water; refraction in water droplets, and finally dropping little stones into water to make bubbles and a splash.
Help was on hand from Pete as well as several Club members, with anything from technical support, dripping the food colouring to dropping the stones.
A good selection of photos were taken, as well as a lot of trial and error accompanied by laughter and a few small puddles on the tables – good fun!
Existing club members enjoyed reconnecting and we welcomed some new faces who joined in and hopefully had a good time.
We look forward to seeing everyone again on 23rd September for the talk by Ralph Duckett.
