The Constitution of the Club

  1. The Club shall be called the “The Coalville and District Camera Club” and membership shall be open to all interested in photography.
  2. The aims of the Club shall be the furtherance of photography in all its aspects.
  3. Membership of the club implies the undertaking to comply and abide by its rules.
  4. The subscription rate shall be fixed for the following year at the AGM and payable yearly, half yearly or Quartely (Half yearly and Quarterly applies to new members joining part way through the year).
  5. The Officers shall consist of: Chairman, Secretary, Programme Secretary, Treasurer, Competition Secretary, External Competition Secretary, Equipment Secretary, and two or more ordinary members. Officers shall be elected at the AGM.
  6. Items to be included in the agenda for the AGM are to be given to the Secretary in writing 28 days prior to the meeting, with the Secretary publishing the agenda 14 days before the AGM.
  7. The affairs of the club shall be managed by the Committee, that consists of the officers and ordinary members.
  8. All officers and the Committee to be elected annually at the AGM.
  9. Candidates for membership of the Committee to be proposed by one member and seconded by another.
  10. At Committee meetings , five shall form a quorum.
  11. Special meetings may be convened on a requisition signed by at least three ordinary members stating the object of the meeting and supplied to the Secretary within 28 days.
  12. The Secretary shall keep the minutes of all meetings and conduct the correspondence of the Club.
  13. The Treasurer shall collect all subscriptions and monies due after authorisation by the Committee and at the AGM, A balance sheet shall be produced by the Treasurer audited by two ordinary members appointed by the Committee.
  14. The Programme Secretary shall be responsible for creating the programme.
  15. A member may be expelled or asked to resign from the Club at the decision of the committee. The Committee can request a member to appear before it. The member may bring a witness at subsequent meetings.
  16. A member expelled or asked to resign shall have the right to appeal at a Special General Meeting called for this adjudification purpose. All Committee and General meetings called under this rule shall be treated as privileged and confidential.
  17. A member may resign at ant time by notifying the Secretary of his or hers desire to do so.
  18. In the event of dissolution of the society, a Special General Meeting shall be called , where a liquidator shall be appointed and a decision taken then or subsequently, as to the disposal of the assets of the Club.
  19. Certain Club equipment shall be made available to members on a hire basis. Hire charges to be fixed by the Committee.
  20. No alterations or additions to these rules shall be made except at the AGM, or at a Special meeting called in accordance with rule 11.
  21. The Committee shall have the power to deal with any contingencies that may arise and are not covered for within these rules.
