Recognising the different levels of knowledge, skills and experience across Club members, this evening we saw a demonstration of various basic Photoshop photo-editing techniques to add some final tweaks to our images before entering club competitions.
We saw the basics of straightening the horizon, removing unwanted objects both with the spot healing brush and by basic cloning. We found a whole load of dust spots on some photos and were shown how to find them all and then to remove them.
We straightened a few verticals.
We turned images upside down to see where our eye landed and we discussed cropping options to get rid of distracting bits of images, then removed any we couldn’t crop out.
Finally we added a thin border line around our darkest images, and learned how to resize them to competition requirements.
Everyone ended the night having learned something new to take away and practice.
